Fingers Crossed

I haven't run a step in 7 days until today. My lower back is killing me. I ran three miles this afternoon before seeing the Doctor and they were absolutely the most miserable miles I have ever run. I am a bit nervous about the severity of this injury. Especially since I have never had one before that has prevented me from running. After the Doctor's visit he recommended getting some X-Rays for a herniated disc. However, he adjusted some things and when I got home I didn't feel that bad. I ran 4 as soon as I got home. They weren't that bad. No hitch in my stride and I even did some pick ups. I hope this goes away soon because Hartford is close.

  1. They said X-Ray first then MRI. I guess it is procedure. Probably to get a few more bucks. I still think it could be a piriformus thing. I ran great this afternoon. I also may be in denial. I think depression is the next phase. I plan on skipping that one (I have a road bike). Keep you posted.

  2. Here's to hoping the x-rays come back negative. Maybe just some soreness got in there that is now working its way out.

  3. Word. Maybe I am a wuss and have a low threshold of pain and I should just suck it up.

  4. Hey man, good to hear you had a little relief and a few miles with out much pain. Try to keep it loose and don't over do it. Don't even begin to think you have a low pain threshold. This is just something that got out of whack, and it's going to cause pain until it gets back in place. Maybe you should translate what the chinese guy said. Might be some good advice.

  5. Justin, nice to meet you and your wife officially at the Surry NH Tri. I hope whatever is ailing you that you heal quickly and without the blues. Keep doing whatever you can to keep those endorphins flowing without re-injuring or straining your problem area. It'll make a huge difference in overall recovery. But you probably already know this. The blues come knockin' as soon as 10 days.
